ArmInfo. There is hope that the situation with coronavirus will not worsen in Vardenis, and in the near future we will be able to remove the existing restrictions. Head of the RA Ministry of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan said this on his Facebook page.
The Minister informed that today, as part of his visit to the Gegharkunik region, he also visited the city of Vardenis, where, according to the decision of the Commandant's Office, entry and exit restrictions apply. <We discussed with the governor and mayor the epidemiological situation in the city and the steps being taken. There is hope that the situation with coronavirus will not worsen in Vardenis, and in the near future we will be able to remove the existing restrictions>, he said.
To recall, the first patient with coronavirus in Vardenis was a doctor at a local clinic. Subsequently, the virus was detected not only among a number of employees of this medical institution, but also among the staff of the Vardenis hospital. The aforementioned clinic is not valid from April 17 to April 21, the work of the local hospital of Vardenis has been limited; only the "Ambulance" service operates and urgent, emergency medical care is provided. In total, the number of patients in the Gegharkunik region exceeded 60.
From 8:00am on April 22, a special regime of entry and exit was established in the Vardenis community, and for this purpose several checkpoints were placed. Thus, entry and exit of persons and vehicles is prohibited, with the exception of the supply of goods and basic necessities, food, medicine and fuel. By decision of the Commandant's Office, the restrictions will last until 11:59pm on May 3, 2020.
1932 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the republic, 900 people recovered, 30 died. Currently, 1000 patients are receiving actual treatment.
