ArmInfo. In two weeks, the situation in the Armenian city of Vanadzor may get out of control. On April 22, MP of the National Assembly Hovannes Igityan delivered a similar warning from the rostrum.
To recall, a protest rally was held in the city of Vanadzor with the participation of several dozen employees of the Gloria sewing factory, who demanded the reopening of the enterprise. The police did not detain anyone. According to Igityan, today no one in the world can predict how long the coronavirus pandemic will last. And in this situation, Armenia is in a difficult situation. It's clear, the MP continued, that the people need work, but what happens in Vanadzor in two weeks can lead to unpredictable consequences caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, and then any benefits, including tax, can be worthless. As an example, Igityan cited Georgia, where often the authorities, not deciding on the source of infection, closed the cities. He urged the residents of Vanadzor to exercise restraint, and not create additional centers of tension.
It should be noted that earlier Mane Gevorgyan, press secretary of the Prime Minister and the Commandant's Office, said that a decision by the Commandant's regarding the reopening of textile mills could be expected in the near future. "Until a decision is made, most likely everything will be decided tomorrow. For now, we can only say that protests and actions are prohibited," Gevorgyan said.
It should be noted that the Gloria sewing factory has not been operating since March 16, the day the state of emergency was introduced in Armenia. On April 20, company management announced that the company would be closed for another month.
