ArmInfo. Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts urged RA citizens abroad to obey the rules established in the host countries in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. Adonts said this on April 21 during a press conference, regarding information that Armenian citizens were evicted from Moscow's Domodedovo airport.
The Deputy Minister stressed that the Armenian Foreign Ministry is well aware of the situation in Domodedovo. He informed that the Armenian Embassy in Russia organized the environment, the so-called temporary refuge, where our compatriots can wait for the flight. "There is no need to stay at the airport. As soon as the flight is organized, they will be informed about it. In the near future it is planned to organize new flights, including from Moscow," Adonts emphasized. He also recalled that over the past two weeks 5 charter flights have been organized from Russia (3 from Moscow, one from Krasnodar and another from Rostov-on-Don), due to which several hundred citizens returned home.
Referring to the financing of these flights, he noted that the sources are different including the state budget, the assistance of compatriots and philanthropists abroad, and the AAC. According to him, in each case there were different approaches. Answering the question whether it is planned in the foreseeable future to resume flights with countries that are gradually overcoming the crisis, Adonts emphasized that there are no such plans for now, and Armenia continues to work in a state of emergency, sometimes various information is received about the intention to resume flights, but everything still remains on the level of gossip.
Touching upon the issue of the expiration of visas, Adonts stated that each country has its own rules and regulations, but as a rule, the deadlines are automatically extended. At the same time, he advised that if you have any questions, contact the local diplomatic missions of Armenia. It should be noted that over 200 Armenian citizens spent several days at the Moscow airport, rejecting the offer of the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation to move to a hotel. The leadership of the Domodedovo airport turned to the Armenian diplomatic mission with a request to remove their citizens from the territory of the air harbor. The airport management also complained about the repeated violation by the citizens of the Republic of Armenia of quarantine measures operating on the territory of the capital's airport.
