ArmInfo. In Armenia, 92 new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified. This was announced by RA Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan at a government meeting on April 2. Thus, the total number of registered patients was 663.
According to Torosyan, most of the identified new cases are in previously isolated citizens, or persons from the circle of contacts of patients with coronavirus. In addition, there are also imported cases (by air or land), and work is underway to identify the appropriate circle of contacts in order to isolate. The Minister informed that contactees and patients with mild symptoms of COVID-19 are quarantined in 16 zones allocated for these purposes. In addition, at the moment, 9 medical institutions in the country are exclusively engaged in the treatment of coronavirus. These are the Nork infectious diseases hospital, the orthopedics center, the Police hospital, the maternity hospital building center of Surb Astvatsamayr MC, the Artashat MC, the infectious diseases hospitals of Gyumri and Vanadzor, the Kapan medical center building. Given the increase in the number of patients with coronavirus, it was decided to completely allocate for this purpose the country's largest medical center, under the Ministry of Health - "Surb Grigor Lusavorich". Already today, according to Torosyan, all patients of the hospital will be transferred to other medical facilities. This also applies to patients in the intensive care unit. Thus, in Surb Grigor Lusavorich, the largest bed fund for treating patients with COVID-19 will operate. The Minister noted that, thanks to this, Armenia will have sufficient bed capacity for the fight against coronavirus for a rather long time, and patients with mild symptoms will be sent to isolation in hotels. Torosyan also said that two patients with COVID-19 were discharged the day before, in whom a double test gave a negative result. Moreover, the number of quarantined citizens is about 350.
