ArmInfo. In connection with the outbreak of coronavirus, the Gyumri Information Technology Center (GITC) is switching to a distance learning in the regions of Armenia. This is stated in the official statement of the Center.
According to the source, the Center team has implemented a methodology for organizing the educational process in a remote mode. In particular, thanks to the Google Hangouts and Webex sites, instructors have the opportunity to conduct lessons on a pre-planned schedule.
The main challenge in organizing the remote education process, according to Executive Director of the GITC Amalia Yeghoyan, is the lack of technical equipment and the quality of Internet connection. At this stage, as the head of the Center noted, an intensive inventory of equipment is carried out in order to understand the number of students without computers or other technical means.
In this regard, she said that a large number of compatriots expressed their willingness to provide students in the fields with the necessary equipment.
The source says that the GITC organizes comprehensive programming lessons in Shirak, Vayots Dzor, Tavush, Aragatsotne and Kotayk. Professional disciplines include English, programming basics, discrete mathematics, theory of algorithms, and a database. In addition, the Center provides an opportunity for its graduates to practice at the best IT companies, and under the circumstances, in remote mode.
To recall, the educational institutions of Armenia in connection with the spread of coronavirus from March 16 switched to distance learning.
