ArmInfo. The governments of Armenia and Georgia work intensively on a daily basis in order to further deepen the close ties between the two countries. This was announced at a tete-a-tete meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, by the head of the Georgian government Georgy Gakharia.
At the same time, he stated that the parties have repeatedly emphasized that high-level visits serve as the basis for contacts between departments and structures of the Republic of Armenia, and this visit will give a new impetus to the development of friendly relations.
"We live in a complex region, and the governments of our countries understand that regional stability is an essential foundation and guarantee of the development of our two countries. We must take care of the world for our countries, and only then think about other issues, such as politics, economics, culture "We are convinced that the development of our countries, peace and stability are connected with integration into the Euro-Atlantic region. I am confident that you, as part of the EU Eastern Partnership program, also seek to integrate into Europe. We also seek to deepen our Armenian-Georgian neighborhood, "said Gakharia. In turn, Pashinyan stated that it is difficult to overestimate the importance of Armenia and Georgia for each other. Recalling the deep historical political, economic, cultural and historical contacts, the Prime Minister of Armenia expressed his conviction that the time had come to think about what the development of cooperation would be for future, if not millennia, then at least centuries.
"My words are not just beautiful words, because our ideas about cooperation with Georgia have a strategic value. For us, we are considering our regional relations with our neighbors and friends, including Georgia, on a different plane. Another factor that strengthens our interaction has been revealed - this is the commitment of our peoples to democracy and democratic values. " - said the Prime Minister of Armenia, adding that this is another important cornerstone in relations between Armenia and Georgia.
At the same time, the Armenian Prime Minister expressed his conviction that over the past year and a half, Armenian-Georgian relations have further strengthened, and cooperation has been raised to a qualitatively new level, and this visit will further strengthen this fact.
The head of the Armenian government also believes that the parties are able to take concrete steps to clearly implement the tasks set.
The narrow-ended meeting was followed by expanded negotiations with the participation of delegations of the two countries.
