ArmInfo. Due to the sharp increase in the number of patients with coronavirus (COVID-19) in Japan and Korea, the Armenian Embassy addressed the RA citizens in  these two countries and urged them to establish a relationship with  the diplomatic mission.

So, the message of the Armenian Embassy in Japan calls on RA citizens  to avoid crowded places in areas where a large number of infected  people were detected (in Japan - Hokkaido, Kanagawa, Tokyo, Chiba,  Ishikawa, Wakkama and Okinawa and in Korea - Seoul, Degu , Gwangju,  as well as Ganshan province).  The embassy also called on RA citizens  to adhere to the recommendations of the Ministries of Health of Japan  and Korea. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), on Wednesday,  February 26, a total of 80,980 people in the world were infected with  coronavirus, which spread from China. WHO Director-General Tedros  Adhan Ghebreyesus said the sharp increase in cases of disease outside  of China "raises serious concerns." In Iran, 139 cases of illness and  19 deaths have been officially confirmed, but the true extent of  spread in this country can be much wider. Iran's Deputy Minister of  Health Iraj Harirchi, who had previously denied that the authorities  were hiding the true extent of the disease, confirmed that he had  discovered the virus.  In South Korea, according to data on  Wednesday, 1261 people became infected with coronavirus, 11 of them  died. This country has the most cases of disease outside of China.  Many supporters of the apocalyptic sect "Shinjongji Temple of the  Tabernacle of Testimony" were infected there - its followers believe  that its founder is the embodiment of the Second Coming of Christ to  Earth. Authorities check for the presence of the virus all 215  thousand members of this sect.

The US military leadership confirmed that a coronavirus was found in  one of the American soldiers serving in South Korea at a base in  Daegu.

In Brazil, local media reported on Tuesday about the first suspected  case of infection: the 61-year-old man from Sao Paulo who returned  from a trip to northern Italy turned out to be infected. For a final  conclusion, doctors expect the results of a second test.

In Japan, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called for the cancellation of  all major sporting and cultural events or postpone them for two weeks  due to the threat of the spread and disruption of the Olympic Games  in Tokyo. The vast majority of cases of coronavirus are in China,  where, according to the latest data, more than 78 thousand people  were infected, 2,715 died. However, in recent weeks the number of  infected and dead there has been declining. In some regions, the  threat level has already been lowered. On Tuesday, 52 deaths were  recorded in China - the lowest daily rate in the last three weeks. In  several European countries, the first cases of Covid-19 disease  caused by the new coronavirus were recorded. Apparently, all of them  are associated with an outbreak of infection in Italy, where the  number of infected has already reached more than 300 people, 11 of  those who died.
