ArmInfo. The environment in the army as in a mirror reflects the environment in society. The former director of the National Security Service of Armenia Arthur  Vanetsyan stated this in an interview with the "Aravot" newspaper,  referring to the tragic fatal incidents that increased in the army.

< The issue of incidents in the army requires all of us to be  restrained and approach this issue with great responsibility. No  matter how high the emotional state, no matter how heavy the grief, I  urge everyone not give over to emotions in public speaking.

 And even more so, I urge not exploit the issue for any personal or  political purposes. Unfortunately, there are such trends. This is not  only immoral, but also directly related to the security of our  state>, Vanetsyan noted.

At the same time, the former head of the NSS expressed confidence  that the leadership of the army has the problem and will take all  necessary steps.  <At the same time, I would like to note the main  factor determining the internal army processes. This is the  environment prevailing in the country. They say that the army is a  mirror of society, and the environment in the army as in a mirror  reflects the environment in society. Division into camps, schism,  constant search for internal enemies, artificial division into "old"  and "new" - such an internal environment in society quickly  penetrates into all sectors, including the army, "he said.

Vanetsyan also noted that the activities of the commission on the  April war are negatively reflected in the environment in the army:   <Real commanders, serious personnel officers with their serious  biographies today are forced to report to people who have no idea  about the army and armed forces. It is also a time bomb leading to  internal demoralization of the army>.  

He also urged not explore the Army for personal PR. <You must not  allow deserters to visit military units, even if they are ministers  and MPs today. For real commanders, for various officer circles, it  is extremely difficult when those who have taken refuge from military  service appear before the military system and teach them to call for  heroism and service to their homeland. This has happened before, and  my attitude to this has always been negative>, Vanetsyan emphasized.  

He also pointed out that a directed campaign against Artsakh generals  cannot be waged, inventing conspiratorial theories around their  names.  <Many of them are those who won the war, secured peace, have  a serious biography, enjoy real authority in real troops, in a real  military unit. You can't drive a wedge between Armenia and Artsakh -  this is the dream of our opponent. I would like that we do not just  follow the path of identifying and punishing the perpetrators, and do  not pass sentences at the household level on social networks, but  understand the essence of the problem and solve it radically. And, as  a result, serious steps were taken to prevent further accidents.  Today, the command staff of the Ministry of Defense and the Artsakh  Defense Army, from ministers to units working with the public, is  staffed with professional and decent personnel, "Vanetsyan noted.  To  note, since the beginning of the year, cases of tragic incidents  involving firearms and death have become more frequent in the army.  In this regard, parliamentarians have repeatedly called on relevant  bodies to pay close attention to the current situation. In this  context, officials indicated the need to combat criminal subculture  in the army.
