ArmInfo. The discussion between the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev once again proves that official Baku is not ready for any normal, constructive step.
The press secretary of Artsakh President David Babayan wrote about this on his Facebook page. He emphasized in particular: "We are surprised because we thought Aliyev knew history a little deeper. What he says corresponds to the speech of a third-grader who fell under the influence of agitation. I would recommend to study their history better," concluded Babayan.
It should be noted that on February 15, during a security conference in Munich, a discussion took place between the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Aliyev, in particular, starting his speech and presenting his idea of ways to resolve the long-standing conflict, once again recalled the allegedly historical belonging of Nagorno-Karabakh to Azerbaijan. Then he added that Artsakh's being part ofAzerbaijan is recognized by the international community, and it is an integral part of Azerbaijan. The head of Azerbaijan also decided to support his statements with pseudo- historical facts about the belonging of the Karabakh to Azerbaijan in the 19th century, while assuring that there was no evidence of Armenians living in these territories.
Aliyev went further, expressing territorial claims against Armenia of the 20th century, while appealing with chaotic, unsupported historical facts. Nevertheless, deciding to "get to the bottom of the problem", Aliyev, forgetting that it was the Azerbaijani side that launched the hostilities against the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, accused Armenia of aggression, recalled the Khojaly tragedy, forced migrants, 4 UN Security Council resolutions and internally displaced persons. Moreover, he once again pointed to the only way to resolve the conflict, namely, the return of Artsakh to the AR.
