ArmInfo.I noted that those forces that oppose the free will of the people will be considered by us as anti-state. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this from the rostrum of the parliament on February 12.
He noted that he always adhered to this point of view. <I am talking now about those people who intend to impede the referendum. After all, in fact, what do we offer? To ask what opinion the people hold on this issue. But if someone says that he is not interested in the position of the people, and he wants to appeal to the Constitutional Court on this issue, then how these actions should be regarded?>, Pashinyan asked.
The prime minister said that one may carry out campaigning and bring his/her arguments, but why try to disrupt this referendum. <No one has the right to de jure and de facto try to interfere with the referendum.
Give your reasons, and if the people decide that your position is the most correct, then in the referendum the people will choose it. As you know, in the history of Armenia there have never been completely free elections until early parliamentary elections in 2018. We do not shut anyone's mouth, we give people complete freedom of expression>, the prime minister concluded.
It should be noted that on February 6, the parliament adopted a referendum decision at which Armenian citizens will decide whether they agree to amend the Constitution of the country.
On April 5, a constitutional referendum will be held in Armenia, at which the issue of judges of the Constitutional Court will be decided. Many MPs and human rights activists said that this decision is unconstitutional, since initially the MPs had to forward their proposals to the Constitutional Court.According to the decision adopted on February 11 at the CEC meeting, the campaign will be held from February 17 to April 3.
