ArmInfo. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia Suren Papikyan met in Georgia with the drivers of Armenian companies, who were stopped in Tbilisi for more than a week due to congestion at the Upper Lars checkpoint.
According to the press service of the ministry, Suren Papikyan and the Ambassador of Armenia to Georgia, Ruben Sadoyan, listened to the complaints of drivers, discussed issues of support and mitigation of the situation. With the support of the Armenian Embassy in Georgia, Armenian carriers will be provided with food and materials.
It should be noted that according to the data received from the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia and from the department of the Center for Crisis Management in North Ossetia of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation, as of 09.42 February 12, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles. According to the same data, from the side of Russia there is an accumulation of more than 1000 trucks.
