ArmInfo. On February 11, the court continued to consider the petition of lawyers to end the criminal prosecution of Second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan.
During the meeting, Kocharyan himself made a speech, pointing out his suspicions that the 600 volumes of the criminal case contained sufficient materials solving the 10 murders that took place on March 1, 2008. Meanwhile, according to him, these materials are not used for the reason that they can lead a criminal case in a different, opposite direction. In addition, in the light of this, according to Kocharyan, questions may arise regarding the participation of victims in court hearings. Kocharyan acknowledged the fact that three of the victims were victims of the use of Cheremukha special equipment, however, he noted that the hit was a rebound, and it is impossible to establish which weapon the fatal shots were made from. The former president noted that there are many reasons in favor of ending the criminal prosecution, but the judge, in his opinion, is in a difficult situation when making the decision. In particular, he stated that only those that form the evidence base were isolated from the case materials. According to Kocharyan, there are no reports in the case that in 2008 he was provided by a NSS officer, whom the former president described as a person with a high level of professionalism. It should be noted that Robert Kocharyan was charged with overthrowing the Constitutional system in the framework of the events of March 1, 2008.
