ArmInfo.A platform will be created in Armenia for accounting for water resources, strengthening control over water releases and raising public awareness. This was discussed during the meeting of the Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Armenia Eric Grigoryan on February 7 with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Armenia Ulrik Tidestrom.
According to the press service of the Ministry of the Environment, during the meeting, the Minister noted that within the framework of the policy pursued in the field of environmental protection, the two countries have great prospects for expanding cooperation. The interlocutors discussed the development of a roadmap of the measures necessary to bring the European Union directives on the principles of increased producer responsibility closer. The meeting's agenda included Sevan's issues, as well as the creation of a unified information database.
Ambassador Tidestrom, expressing appreciation for the reception, stressed the importance of the exchange of experience between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, the parties also touched upon cooperation on the development of a cadastre program for contaminated lands.
