Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, in connection with the outbreak of a new type of coronavirus in China, issued a statement and called on RA citizens in the PRC to maintain constant contact with the ministry and embassy. According to Safaryan, as of February 3, about 600 Armenian citizens, whose data were registered by the embassy of the republic, responded to this information. <The embassy also provides citizens of Armenia officially notified by the authorities of the PRC regarding foreigners residing in China. At this stage, evacuation of persons outside the quarantine region is not carried out>, he said.
According to him, the RA Embassy in the PRC and the RA MFA are currently generalizing a range of issues regarding RA citizens who wish to move to Armenia, but at the same time they are faced with difficulties arising in recent days related to transport and other problems. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the last 10 days, about 200 RA citizens returned to Armenia from the territory of China. "At the moment, the RA embassy in the PRC has not received information about infected people among Armenian citizens," he emphasized.
Note that according to the latest data from the National Health Commission of China, as of February 4, 20,438 cases of infection with a new coronavirus infection were registered in the country. The number of deaths in China from this virus has reached 425. The Commission said that 2,788 cases of infection are serious.
Recall that in connection with the coronavirus, Armenia suspended the visa-free regime for Chinese citizens until March 31 of this year.
