ArmInfo. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian met with President of Iraqi Kurdistan Nechirvan Barzani in Davos on the sidelines of World Economic Forum.
According to the presidential press service, Armen Sarkissian considered it important to develop cooperation with friendly Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan in various directions. The President noted that Armenia is closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and considers it important to develop multilateral relations with friendly Iraq, as well as deepening relations and more active cooperation with Iraqi Kurdistan.
A contributing factor in the development of relations, the President noted the presence of the Armenian community in Iraqi Kurdistan. The parties also discussed a number of specific issues, in particular, the prospect of obtaining higher education for students from Iraqi Kurdistan in Armenian universities. They also spoke about the possibilities of developing trade and economic relations, as well as cooperation in the field of information technology, creative education, e-government and tourism.
