ArmInfo. As part of the visit to London, the Armenian delegation today met with the former Minister of Education of Great Britain Charles Clarke in the British Council.
As reported to ArmInfo in the press service of the RA Ministry of Education, Clarke spoke about the British education system and the challenges facing the reforms. In particular, the parties spoke about the need to reform preschool education, create a unified system and develop effective financing mechanisms.
The parties discussed a number of issues related to trends in improving the quality of teaching and improving practice in higher education. It was noted that along with an emphasis on improving the quality of research, measures should be taken to develop the methodological skills of teachers.
During the meeting, the parties also mentioned the importance of non-formal education included in the program for reforming educational systems and online educational programs available online in the context of cooperation between the employer and the educational institution.
To recall, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan and Deputy Minister Arevik Anapiosyan are in London on January 20-22 to participate in the World Education Forum.
