In front of the building of the Prosecutor General`s Office, a  protest rally demanding the arrest of persons involved in a criminal  case on the illegal adoption of children

ArmInfo. On January 10 in the morning in front of the building of the Prosecutor General's Office a protest rally was launched with the participation of victims in a  high- profile case on the illegal adoption of children. The  protesters - mostly mothers who have lost their children - are  demanding the arrest of the director of the Republican Institute of  Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology CJSC  Razmik Abrahamyan and deputy director Arshak Jerjeryan.

Recall that the prosecutor's office earlier appealed the decision of  the court of general jurisdiction on the measure of restraint on  three of the five defendants in the scandalous case, including  Abrahamyan and Jerjeryan. At the end of December last year, the court  rejected the relevant applications for the election of arrest as a  preventive measure. Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office considers  these decisions unsubstantiated, in connection with which appeals  were filed.

Thus, the illegal organization of adoption of children has more than  an impressive history, and Abrahamyan, as the victims say, should be  punished accordingly.

We add that in the criminal case on the illegal seizure of newborn  children from their parents, 5 people were detained by prior  agreement between a group of people and their adoption by foreign  citizens. All of them are suspected of illegally separating the child  from the parents by prior conspiracy.

As previously reported, the National Security Service of the Republic  of Armenia revealed gross violations of Armenian legislation when  children were adopted by foreigners in Armenia. Thus, evidence was  obtained that two citizens of the Republic of Armenia, using their  contacts in one of the republican obstetric institutions, in a number  of departments of the Republic of Armenia, as well as in orphanages,  with a gross violation of the legislation of Armenia, organized the  process of adoption of more than three dozen Armenian children by  Italian citizens.

To this end, a number of obstetric institution employees and other  employees endowed with managerial powers, by prior conspiracy,  intentionally and for personal gain, from 2016 to 2018, forced them  to abandon the children and against their will give consent to adopt  more than one dozen women who have come to the maternity ward of this  company for an abortion due to social or personal problems,  threatening to make their pregnancy public, exaggerating the illness  of the child and providing false information in order to exert  psychological pressure Moreover, in some cases they did not disdain  to demand a bribe from women in labor for rendered medical services.

Having written documents on abandonment of children, the majority of  infants with appropriate medical diagnoses were sent to orphanages. A  criminal case has been instituted; an investigation is underway.
