ArmInfo.The tourist portal TourStat presented a rating of the highest major New Year trees of the capital cities of the CIS countries for the New Year 2020. The main Christmas tree of Armenia in Yerevan, 37 meters high (with the top) on Republic Square, was lit on December 21.
The top ten highest Christmas trees in the capitals of the CIS countries included trees in the cities of Ashgabat (40 meters), Yerevan (37 m), Tashkent (36m), Baku (34 m), Minsk (30 m), Dushanbe (29 m), Moscow (27 m), Bishkek (27 m), Astana (25 m) and Chisinau (20 m). The rating is based on studies of the height of the main Christmas trees in the capitals of the CIS countries.
The main Christmas tree of Russia 27 meters high on the Cathedral Square of the Kremlin in Moscow is the only living main Christmas tree in the capitals of the CIS countries.
