ArmInfo. Following the results of the December 23 elections, Armen Melikbekyan, who previously held the position of FFA Secretary General, became the President of the Football Federation of Armenia.
In a closed secret ballot, Melikbekyan received 13 votes, and his rival, head of the "Lori" Vanadzor club, Tovmas Grigoryan, received 7 votes. In addition, 3 ballots were declared invalid. In his gratitude speech, Melikbekyan promised that he would do his best to merit the trust, and from now on, all processes taking place in the FFA will be transparent.
To recall, earlier the FFA was headed by former head of the NSS Arthur Vanetsyan, but on November 21, after a crushing defeat of the Armenian team at a match with Italy during the qualifying round of Euro 2020 with a score of 1: 9, he resigned.
