ArmInfo. On December 17, Edward Hovhannisyan, deputy chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia, at a meeting with reporters, touched upon statements by the head of the Prosperous Armenia (GAP) parliamentary party, Gagik Tsarukyan, that the authorities were checking only his facilities.
Earlier, Gagik Tsarukyan, in an interview with reporters, said that the checks in his business structures are protracted. According to him, he is not against checks. But there are some rules for this, and they should check not only it alone. "What has changed after the revolution, if only Tsarukyan should be checked again," he said. Tsarukyan recalled that he was checked by tax authorities during the time of the third president Serzh Sargsyan.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the SRC, comprehensive tax audits are carried out in view of a number of circumstances and according to the preliminary plan. In this regard, as Hovhannisyan noted, the established strictly defined inspection procedure does not allow a discretionary approach. "As for the statements of the PAP head that the checks are carried out only with him, I'll say that it is business entities that own various businesses, especially if they are large taxpayers, it's logical that they have more frequent checks," he explained . As the deputy head of the SRC pointed out, the work style of "keeping someone on the fly" is excluded in the current activities of the department.
