Head of "Luys" Faction: Reduction of Yerevan Development Program  Unacceptable

ArmInfo.Reducing the five-year development program of Yerevan is unacceptable. A similar opinion was expressed by ArmInfo, the head of the "Luys" faction in  the Council of Elders of Yerevan, David Khazhakyan.

At the last meeting of the Metropolitan Council of Elders, Khazhakyan  accused Mayor Hayk Marutyan of violating the law. Oppositionist  accused the mayor of the fact that without any justification from the  five- year development program of the capital were removed points on  unloading intersections and solving problems with buildings of the  fourth degree of accident.

"We are talking about the five-year development program adopted by  the Municipality and the Council of Elders of Yerevan, which, among  other programs, provided for the implementation of urban development  programs to unload the intersection at the Hayrenik cinema and the  circus. As well as the resettlement of residents of buildings with a  fourth accident rate. for various reasons, virtually all of these  programs remained outside the framework of the five-year program, "he  said.

According to Khazhakyan, the city authorities can repeat as much as  they want about the implementation of these projects. However, how  they will be implemented is not clear, since they are not in the new  program for the development of the capital. Meanwhile, these programs  are very important for the city, and therefore, the opposition  considers the refusal to implement them to be unacceptable.

The head of the Luys faction assesses such actions by the city  authorities as arbitrary, considering any manipulations with major  urban development programs unacceptable. Especially with long  overdue.  Khazhakyan also sees the need for the capital's mayor to  submit a report on the implementation of the five- year city  development program.

"It seems to me that Marutyan needs, at a minimum, to justify the  reasons why the municipality decided to withdraw these urban  development projects from the capital's development program. To  clarify the degree of their objectivity, explain what the problem is.  Why it is impossible to relocate residents of emergency houses, why  it is impossible to unload the most important transportation hubs.  And only after that, with the permission of the Council of Elders, to  change the development program, "summed up Khazhakyan.
