ArmInfo. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group issued a statement following a visit to the region on October 14-17.
The statement of Minsk mediators received in ArmInfo recalls the summits held in Yerevan, Stepanakert and Baku.
The mediators also indicate that during their visit to Baku, they met with the chairman of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh. "In Nagorno-Karabakh, mediators were informed about humanitarian issues by the local representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross. The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan informed the co-chairs of their recent conversation at the CIS summit in Ashgabat and presented their ideas on how to advance the settlement process. The co-chairs welcomed the prospect of adopting concrete humanitarian and security measures to prepare the population for peace and reduce tensions, "the OSCE said.
At the same time, the co-chairs reiterated the crucial importance of the monitoring mission led by PRCIO, carried out in accordance with its mandate and many years of practice. The co-chairs also called on the parties to continue to fully support the activities of PRCIO and its team and to ensure the immediate removal of any obstacles that could interfere with monitoring missions.
"The foreign ministers reiterated their intention to meet again under the auspices of the co-chair before the end of the year. The co-chairs will soon leave for Vienna to inform the OSCE Permanent Council and members of the Minsk Group about the results of the visit," the statement said.
