ArmInfo. Armenia is a beneficiary of international cooperation and, at the same time, an investor in the security, development and human rights agenda. Speaking at the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this.
Recalling that the republic celebrated its anniversary of independence a few days ago, Nikol Pashinyan noted that exactly 28 years ago, Armenia as a sovereign state became a full member of the international community, restoring its place and role in the world arena. "We attach great importance to efficient multivercity, working with all our partners at the international and regional levels to promote global security, the fight against international terrorism, nuclear security and peacekeeping operations. Armenia participates in peacekeeping operations in Mali, Lebanon, Kosovo and Afghanistan and carries out a humanitarian mission through medical and mine clearance operations. The benefits to efficient multivercity are reflected in global efforts to achieve sustainable development goals, the implementation process of which is complemented by the launch of an ambitious transformation strategy, foreseen by 1650, which includes 16 megacities. Priorities of education, innovation and reasonable development, a comprehensive political and economic environment with broad participation emphasize the relationship between development and human rights. Women and youth will be of paramount importance for Armenia. We will continue to pay attention to all these issues both domestically and internationally," Nikol Pashinyan emphasized.
He also pointed to the integration of economic and environmental policies. "Armenia is already experiencing the negative impact of climate change by an average of 1.3 degrees Celsius. To solve this global problem, we are working to create an innovative climate finance mechanism as part of Armenia's national commitment to the Climate Action Summit under the auspices of the Secretary General. Sustainable development and protection human rights should be a comprehensive process and should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their political status or geographical location. Nobody, including the people of Nagorny Arabah should not be left out of the tools of sustainable development. Like others, Nagorno-Karabakh should receive international financial and technical support in order to strengthen human rights, overcome poverty, improve education, respond to climate change and build an inclusive society, " the head of the Armenian government said.
He also noted that as a democratic country and a reliable and predictable member of the international community, Armenia will continue to promote international cooperation in maintaining global peace and security, promoting sustainable development and protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms. "We are committed to continuing a constructive dialogue with all international partners to solve global problems and ensure progress and prosperity for our peoples. We are against dividing lines and a policy of confrontation. We are against closed borders, which are nonsense in the 21st century, but still exist in our region. As a nation that has survived the horror of genocide, we stand for mutual understanding and peace in our unstable region. An escalation and arms race policy based on unrealistic expectations of military superiority It doesn't have a future in the South Caucasus. The peoples of our region deserve to live freely and peacefully, do good, to educate and build a bright future, "Nikol Pashinyan concluded his speech.
