ICRC aware of situation on Line of Contact between Artsakh and  Azerbaijan

ArmInfo. The International Committee of the Red Cross is aware of the situation that has developed on the Line of Contact of the forces of Artsakh and  Azerbaijan.  The head of communication programs of the ICRC  delegation in Armenia Zara Amatuni said this in an interview with  ArmInfo correspondent, answering the question whether the Azerbaijani  side contacted the organization on the issue of transferring the body  of an Azerbaijani soldier to their homeland.

As ArmInfo previously reported with reference to NKR JSC, on the eve  of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the eve an  attempt was made to sabotage penetration on the line of contact with  Artsakh. Upon retreat, the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan left the corpse  of their military in a neutral zone.  NKR Armed Forces also reports  that it has personnel records of what happened.

At the same time, Amatuni informed that the ICRC is now conducting a  confidential dialogue with the parties on this issue.

Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry confirmed the fact of the  death of their soldier, while assuring that the Azerbaijani  serviceman was killed when he " losing his way and ended up between  the positions of the troops." "For safe evacuation of Abdulrahmanov's  body, an appeal was sent to the Baku branch of the International  Committee of the Red Cross," the Defense Ministry said in a  statement.
