Borisov: CSTO will always welcome cooperation with all former  republics of the USSR, not only with Azerbaijan

ArmInfo. The CSTO will always welcome cooperation with all the former republics of the USSR, not only with Azerbaijan. Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian  Federation, Chairman of the International Commission of Military  Economic Cooperation Yuri Borisov said in an interview with reporters  on September 12 in Yerevan referring to the possible membership of  Azerbaijan in the CSTO.

"We were once a single family. This also applies to a certain balance  of military forces of all the former republics. We are conducting a  very balanced and thoughtful policy," Borisov emphasized.  Speaking  about military-technical cooperation with all countries, and  Azerbaijan, in particular, the Deputy Chairman assured that Russia is  not interested in stirring up conflicts, but on the contrary will  contribute in every way so that the conflict is resolved. "And you  know the role that Russia, and in particular, our president, play in  this matter," Borisov said.

Meanwhile, to the remark of reporters that Yerevan is categorically  against any participation of Azerbaijan in the activities of the  Collective Security Treaty Organization, Borisov recalled that  decisions in the structure are taken collectively. "Therefore, after  appropriate discussions, if the Organization takes the necessity of  such a decision, it will be adopted in accordance with the CSTO  charter, regulations and rules, "the Russian official summed up.
