ArmInfo. It is impossible in any way to ban the sale by Russia of armament to Azerbaijan. On September 10, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan stated this in an interview with reporters in parliament.
"People often ask what kind of allied relations can be discussed in this case. But on the other hand, Armenia also gets weapons at incomparably lower prices. Moreover, we got varieties of weapons that are exceptional in their kind," the Armenian diplomat said, adding that what he said does not mean at all that Armenia does not see problems in the issue of armament supplies to Azerbaijan. According to him, this issue is periodically raised by Yerevan.
It should be noted that Russia is one of the largest suppliers of weapons and military equipment to both Azerbaijan and Armenia. The only difference is that Azerbaijan acquires weapons at market value, and Armenia, being a member of the CSTO, purchases it at domestic prices. We also note that over the past 5 years, Russia has provided Armenia with three loans for the acquisition of weapons.
