ArmInfo.Armenia rose to 79th place in the world tourism competitiveness rating. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page announced this.
Thus, according to the Prime Minister, Armenia for two years had risen in the world ranking of competitiveness in tourism by five points at once (''The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report- 2019'') - from 84th to 79th place.
To note, the rating is published once every two years, starting in 2007. In 2019, 140 countries participated in it, which were evaluated by positions that were somehow related to the reception of foreign tourists. This includes historical and cultural heritage, the development of the economy, transport, the hotel sector, communications, medicine, visa policy, openness of the population and much more.
Spain, France, Germany, Japan, USA, UK, Australia, Italy, Canada and Switzerland took the first places in the ranking of 2019.
