ArmInfo. At the meeting of the intergovernmental council of the EAEU member states, a total of 15 issues were discussed, consensus was reached on many of them, preparing the grounds for the next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. On August 9, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a briefing following a meeting of the intergovernmental council of the EAEU member states.
The Armenian Prime Minister singled out one of the items on the agenda of the meeting, in particular, the work on agreeing on a draft regulatory agreement on alcohol market within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. "The document is aimed at removing barriers to the mutual trade of alcoholic beverages and creating conditions to avoid barriers in the Union market. We hope that we will soon be able to reach a final agreement on this document. Another issue is the creation of conditions for expanding mutual trade within the Union. This solution is intended to publish joint forecasts for the development of the agro- industrial complex, the balance of supply and demand of agricultural products, food, flax, rawside, cotton fibers and wool in the years 2019-2020. It is clear that this information will help our farmers to better focus on the markets of the EAEC and more effectively plan their strategy, " the Armenian premier said.
Pashinyan also highlighted the issue of planning to develop and approve a general schedule for the formation of the financial market by 2025. In his opinion, the creation of a common financial market is of fundamental importance for the further improvement of the integration union and deepening economic ties between the EAEU member states. "I would ask the Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission to work out the decisions of the Council. I would also like to inform you that the next session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held on October 25 in Moscow. I also want to recall that the next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held on October 1 in Yerevan," said the head of the Armenian government.
At the same time, Pashinyan emphasized that as chairman of the EAEU, Armenia is looking forward to the opportunity to receive the heads of state of the Union. "At the same time, within the framework of the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, an international conference will be held on the topic" Transit potential of the Eurasian continent. "Actual issues of the development of the continental transport and logistics network, prospects for the development of new large-scale infrastructure projects by the states of the region and the implementation of existing projects, as well as issues related to the development of digital corridors in Eurasia will be discussed. We look forward to the active participation of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in this event ", Pashinyan concluded.
