ArmInfo. The position of Armenia on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is known, it is clearly spelled out in the program of the RA Government. On this July 23, spokesman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalian stated during discussions in the center of Orbeli on the Karabakh settlement.
She recalled that Yerevan advocates a peaceful resolution of the conflict under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group, based on well-known principles, taking into account the right of the Artsakh people to self- determination and the involvement of the authorities of the republic in all stages of negotiations to achieve a comprehensive peace.
Naghdalyan once again stressed that the physical security of the people of Artsakh is a priority for Armenia. According to her, an atmosphere conducive to peace should be created: "We cannot shoot with one hand, but with the other to negotiate".
Moreover, she stressed, Artsakh should be at the negotiating table and independently determine their own destiny. To clarify whether a solution can be found today that satisfies all parties to the conflict, given the differences existing in their positions, Naghdalyan stressed that the assumptions that Yerevan will make unilateral concessions are mistaken to resolve the conflict peacefully. "A decision that would jeopardize the security of Artsakh cannot be acceptable. Our position is unshakable - the physical security of the population of Artsakh and the status of the republic coming from this are priorities for us, "she said, stressing that the people of Artsakh should decide the status.
She reiterated the need to strengthen confidence building measures at the forefront. To clarify whether there is any progress in the humanitarian aspect of interaction between the parties to the conflict, Naghdalyan stated that the interaction periodically occurs during agricultural work and other activities of a similar nature.
