ArmInfo. The position of Azerbaijan on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict from the very beginning of the negotiations to this day remains unchanged. This statement was made by the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Leyla Abdullayeva, at an international forum on the topic "Regional threats from Armenia".
According to her, according to Trend, Azerbaijan takes a principled position on the conflict. She assured that ensuring sovereignty and territorial integrity within the internationally recognized borders of Azerbaijan is one of the priorities of the country's foreign policy>. She once again emphasized that Armenia and Azerbaijan are direct participants in the conflict.
Meanwhile, according to analysts of ArmInfo, no one disputes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of independent Azerbaijan, which proclaimed them in those territories where it is now, but without Nagorno- Karabakh, which by that time had long held a referendum on independence under international law on the self-determination of nations. As for the parties to the conflict, Abdulayeva forgot to mention here the indisputable fact that the armistice agreement of 1994 was signed by three parties, not two.
Abdulayeva recalled that after the change of power in Armenia, several meetings took place on the issue of resolving the conflict at the leadership level of the two countries and foreign ministers.
