ArmInfo. The situation on the Nakhijevan segment of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border is calm. The commander of the Fifth Armenian Corps, Colonel Andranik Piloyan told this on May 24 in an interview with journalists.
According to him, this year the situation on the front line remains stable, unlike last year, when the enemy attempted to move his positions in the aforementioned sector. Although, according to Piloyan, some of the positions erected by Azerbaijan last year were subsequently abandoned due to the inability to ensure a normal supply in winter. "Of course, the enemy is now trying to take new positions from time to time, but these attempts are resolutely stopped by us. There are violations of the truce from time to time, in particular, during engineering works. But the situation is completely controlled by us," concluded Piloyan.
To note, last year, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces announced that 11.000 hectares of territory were under control in Nakhijevan, later it turned out that they were talking about reducing the distance between the positions of the armed forces of the two countries.
