ArmInfo. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, who is on a working visit to Kazakhstan, had a telephone conversation with the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Gagik Harutyunyan. According to the presidential press service, the interlocutors during the conversation discussed the ongoing situation in the country.
To note, today the MP from the ruling bloc <My Step> Hayk Sargsyan on his Facebook page wrote that the judge in the Kocharyan case is under pressure, with the result that he can change the measure of restraint from arrest to bail. In this regard, Sargsyan called on the people to gather in front of the court building and to do everything so that the judge would make a fair decision: "A man who killed 10 lives, crippled the fate of tens of thousands of people should not be free".
Kocharyan's defense considered this statement as an attempt to put pressure on the court and called on President Armen Sarkissian to prevent a possible displacement of the constitutional system, and the head of the Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Harutyunyan to take measures to implement an independent justice. It should also be noted that at that time the court ruled to release Kocharyan under the personal guarantee of the former and current presidents of Artsakh.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told Russian journalists that from a moral point of view, he does not see problems in this guarantee, but from a political point of view, questions arise: ''How would the Artsakh authorities react if I vouched for someone who is tried in NKR?''
