ArmInfo. The policy of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the direction of returning Artsakh to the negotiating table is conducted in the right direction. And, accordingly, needs to be continued. Director of the Armenian Institute of International Relations and Security, member of the Public Council of Armenia Stepan Safaryan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"Today we can come to a similar conclusion, starting at least from the Brussels interview of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov to Armenian journalists, and this is quite hysterical. Mamedyarov didn't utter a word about Stepanakert's participation in the negotiations and this, not to mention the reasons the impossibility of such a scenario. He only repeated that the co-chairs inform the Artsakh people about the negotiations, "he noted. In turn, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, according to Safaryan, are not going to oppose the proposals of Armenia and Pashinyan to return Artsakh to the negotiations, and, all the more, to wonder why Yerevan demands this. According to the analyst, the reason for this state of affairs is on the surface - Pashinyan's demand is legitimate and therefore recognized by the co-chair countries, which is indirectly confirmed even by Azerbaijan, of course, in the form of informing the leadership of Artsakh about the negotiations on the part of the co-chairs.
Starting from his very coming to power, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has argued the need for the return of the Artsakh leadership to the negotiating table. The Armenian Prime Minister makes this need impossible to represent the interests of the Artsakh people. Following a brief meeting in Brussels on Monday with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the Armenian Prime Minister once again expressed his conviction to journalists that Artsakh should be returned to the negotiating table. Pashinyan also appreciated the refusal of Baku to negotiate with Stepanakert as the most important obstacle to the settlement of the conflict.
