ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan informed that he had held contacts with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov on the margins of a conference in Brussels.
"This is a normal practice, in such formats. We are people, we can communicate with each other, however, some issues are not discussed during these contacts, for that we have a lot of other occasions," the Armenian Minister said during a conversation with journalists in Brussels. Clarifying, whether the issue of organizing meetings of the leadership of the two countries was discussed, Mnatsakanyan called for patience. According to the Armenian Foreign Minister, certain issues are expected to be specified for the next stage and the next meeting, the receiving party should suggest the conditions and date of the meeting, which should then be approved by the parties. At the same time, he added that the Armenian side generally sees no problems in this issue.
On the question of whether there is any certainty regarding the meeting in Washington, Mnatsakanyan noted: "It is expected. But it would be wrong to say anything while. I suppose it's not correct to run ahead and make statements before the receiving party."
Meanwhile, to the remark that Mammadyarov again stressed that Baku fundamentally stands against returning Stepanakert to the negotiating table, Mnatsakanyan retorted: "And we are fundamentally" in favor. "I would like to stress once again that we have repeatedly touched on this issue because if Artsakh is not given the opportunity to participate independently in the negotiations, the efficiency of this process is seriously affected. Our approach is practical and logical. "
