ArmInfo. The establishment of relations between Yerevan and Ankara is possible only in the context of the resolution of the Karabakh issue. This was stated by the MP of the Mejlis of Turkey, the chairman of the committee on culture, education and social issues of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, Metin Gundogdu, in an interview with journalists on April 16.
To note, today the meeting of this PABSEC commission is being held in Yerevan.
He noted that without solving the Karabakh conflict, and within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, there is no point in talking about the development and establishment of Armenian-Turkish relations.
According to Gundogdu, the governments of Armenia and Turkey can resolve any issue, but the settlement of relations is possible only in the context of the resolution of the Karabakh issue.
"The parties should respect each other. Azerbaijan has always been an important ally for Turkey - this is one nation, two countries. If the conflict is resolved, then it will benefit the whole region," the Turkish parliamentarian said. Gundogdu also considered it inadmissible to intervene in the Armenian-Turkish relations by the Armenian Diaspora.
