ArmInfo. The Chamber of Deputies of Italy this week began discussing the resolution on recognizing the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
As the Italian "Repubblica" writes, in the event of the adoption of this document, the Italian government will be obliged to recognize the Armenian Genocide and assess the events of 1915.
The discussions initiated provoked the anger of Ankara, in connection with which, Italian Ambassador to Ankara, Massimo Gaiani, was summoned to the Turkish Foreign Ministry for an explanation. The document was prepared and sent to the Lower Chamber of the Italian Parliament by the Five Stars movement. Voting on it is scheduled for today.
