ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Tian Erlong noted that the mutually beneficial and effective cooperation that has developed between Yerevan and Beijing has a serious potential for expansion.
As reported to ArmInfo in the press service of the Ministry of Education, referring to the projects implemented with the Chinese side over the past year, Harutyunyan assured that Armenia has a serious interest in the Chinese language and culture, a clear indication of which is the number of applications that have been submitted for study in Armenian Chinese school, before its opening last year. He also stated the increasing interest of Armenian applicants to Chinese universities.
Harutyunyan also pointed out that there is a potential for expanding interaction in the scientific field, especially in such areas as information technology and artificial intelligence. In this regard, he informed that he received an invitation in May to take part in the international forum "Artificial Intelligence", which will be held in Beijing.
In turn, the ambassador expressed readiness to promote the implementation of existing projects, as well as work towards expanding Armenian-Chinese cooperation in education. In this regard, the importance of expanding the activities of the Confucius Institute at the Linguistic University named after V. Brusov was emphasized. The interlocutors touched upon a wide range of issues of mutual interest on the bilateral agenda.
