Armenian General: Armenian-Russian relations are far from brilliant

ArmInfo. Armenian-Russian  relations are far from brilliant, although some persist in their  characterization of them. Hero of the Artsakh War, Major General  Arkady Ter- Tadevosyan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo. 

"It seems to me that our relations with Russia have significantly  weakened. And despite the fact that we all pretend that this is not  the case, some political forces in Armenia are quite actively working  to undermine the Armenian-Russian relations. Against this background,  Russia has significantly improved relations with Azerbaijan. It is  clear that these relations are abundantly flavored with oil and  petrodollars, it is also clear that Armenia is deprived of such  resources, "he stressed.

Ter-Tadevosyan, however, does not expect the resumption of  hostilities around Nagorno-Karabakh, due to the lack of international  consensus on this issue. According to his forecasts, neither  Azerbaijan nor Armenia is capable of declaring war independently in  today's international relations, only groups of states can take such  a step.

The Commando is convinced that there are no intentions to resume  military operations around Karabakh from Armenia. According to his  estimates, Yerevan is committed to an exclusively peaceful solution  to the conflict with Azerbaijan. Welcoming the intention of the  Armenian authorities to return Stepanakert to the negotiating table,  Ter-Tadevosyan does not expect changes in the negotiation format, at  least in the coming years.
