ArmInfo.. As far as I know, a joint meeting of the Security Councils of Armenia and Artsakh was scheduled prior to the statement of the Minsk Group Ch-Chairs. The Adviser to the President of Artsakh Tigran Abrahamyan said this in an interview with the ArmInfo correspondent.
According to him, the organization of such events requires a certain time. "Besides, I don't think that today the situation is so unprecedented that there is a need to urgently convene a meeting of the Security Councils of the two republics," Abrahamyan said .
At the same time, he stressed that the forecasts about the upcoming war in the near future are somewhat exaggerated: "We are not on the verge of war now, but the situation may change at any moment. However, at the moment the efforts to prevent possible military actions are not exhausted. I hope that the co-chairs will activate their actions in this direction, "the Adviser to the President of Artsakh concluded.
To note, a joint meeting of the Security Councils of Armenia and Artsakh will be held in Stepanakert today. The agenda of the meeting is not yet known.
Prior to the meeting of the Security Councils, the Minsk Group Co-Chairs made a statement in which they stated that it was not advisable to change the current format of the negotiations. In addition, they reminded about the elements that were at the negotiating table from 2009-2012 - the transfer of territories under the control of the Armenian side to Azerbaijan, the postponed referendum on the status of Nagorno-Karakhab, the return of the refugees to their former places of residence.
