ArmInfo. At meeting on February 14 the National Assembly of Armenia approved the program of government activities for the next five years. 82 MPs voted for the adoption of the document, 37 voted against and no any abstention.
In his closing remarks, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stressed that the parliament of the seventh convocation differs from the previous ones with a new quality, as evidenced by the three-day debate on the presented program. For many years, the Prime Minister continued, the NA had a problem with the participation of deputies in plenary discussions, but today this problem has been solved. The Prime Minister considered the discussions to be successful, which mainly took place around ideas, but there was no conflict of interests.
Speaking about the sounding criticism about the transfer of the main burden onto the shoulders of a citizen, the Prime Minister noted that the idea had been heard before about the alleged corruption of the new authorities, skepticism was expressed about the future of the country. "But we always answered: If you do not believe us, believe in yourself, in your own strength, capabilities, and in your future. The government is only a symbol of this faith. Our mission is that every citizen of the country believes in himself, in his capabilities, then in economics, politics, science or culture ", Nikol Pashinyan said. In turn, RA NA President Ararat Mirzoyan announced that the next, second plenary session of the parliament will be held on March 5.
