"First of all, I would like to express my condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased and emphasize that the incident cannot bear interethnic overtones. As I was informed, the conflicting parties were not mono-ethnic," Pashinyan said, recalling that in one of the groups there was Kazakh by nationality, the incident can not be inter-ethnic by nature. Nikol Pashinyan called on Armenian media to publish information about the incident only after thorough verification.
In turn, the leader of the "Bright Armenia" party, Edmon Marukyan, called on the Armenian Foreign Ministry to invite to the Armenian Foreign Ministry Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia and demand clarification from him regarding the ongoing developments in Karaganda. On his page on the social network Facebook, he wrote that "after the incident on the eve of the New Year in the city of Karaganda in Kazakhstan, the situation becomes uncontrollable and explosive, keeping our compatriots in alarm, threatening their safety and security." According to Edmon Marukyan, it is necessary to make sure that official Astana is doing everything to protect the rights, security and property of our compatriots and prevent the dangers threatening them. "Preliminary observations show that Azerbaijanis managed to inflame this interpersonal conflict into an anti-Armenian action," wrote the leader of the Bright Armenia party, Edmon Marukyan, adding that according to the latest data, an investigation was launched on suspicion of inciting national and religious hatred.
