ArmInfo. Armenia does not consider the possibility of acquiring American weapons, RA Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, on December 19, referring to the appeal of the national security adviser to the US President John Bolton to abandon the purchase of Russian weapons in favor of the US.
"Yes, Bolton arrived (John Bolton. Ed.), it was suggested, there was a statement ... At the moment we don't see a concrete offer and opportunity," said Pashinyan.
To note, the adviser to the US president on national security visited Yerevan on the evening of October 24. Before this visit, Bolton visited Moscow, and on the 24th in the morning - Baku. After Yerevan, Bolton visited Georgia. Commenting on the possibility of the sale of weapons by the United States to Azerbaijan, Bolton said: "The situation is this, Armenia buys weapons in the Russian Federation, the weapons of Azerbaijan are 80% Russian too, this circumstance does not contribute to resolving the conflict, because it is an additional lever of pressure on the parties for Russia and does not lead to peace ". He added that competition is a method for solving some issues. And in any case, American weapons are better than the Russian one, Bolton said, adding that this circumstance must be taken into account when passing laws.
