ArmInfo. On December 11, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia, Timur Urazaev.
According to the press service of the RA President, during the meeting the parties discussed the current agenda of the Armenian-Kazakh relations, in particular, the issues of deepening ties in the humanitarian field.
Armen Sarkissian congratulated the Ambassador and the Kazakh people on the upcoming national holiday - Independence Day.
To note, the Day of State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the main national holiday, which is annually celebrated in the country on December 16. In honor of the holiday, this day and the next day, December 17, are non-working in Kazakhstan.
On December 16, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR adopted a law on the independence and state sovereignty of Kazakhstan. Leader of the Central Asian region, Kazakhstan has been developing intensively in recent years. Kazakhstan achieved notable success in the economy thanks to the restructuring of the entire economic system, which in the Soviet era relied mainly on the extractive industries. In addition to economic reforms in independent Kazakhstan, political reforms were carried out, which significantly increased the authority of the Republic in the international arena. Kazakhstan is a member of international and regional organizations, known as a reliable partner of both Western and Eastern states.
On the day of the holiday, mass celebrations are held throughout the country. On the eve of the holiday, outstanding figures of culture and art, sports, politics and other fields are awarded. Festive amnesties are held. In all cities, villages, festive concerts are held, in the evening the sky is lit up with fireworks.
