ArmInfo. German Chancellor Angela Merkel congratulated acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on winning in early parliamentary elections, Bundestag official website reports.
The message runs as follows: "Dear Mr. Prime Minister, I congratulate you on your victory in the elections. The Federal Republic of Germany was following with a great interest the recent peaceful change in power in Armenia. We want to continue assisting Armenia in implementation of reforms and reaffirm the commitments reached during my visit to Yerevan on deepening our relations. In the context of abovementioned, I look forward to our meeting in future>.
To recall, at the end of August this year German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Armenia. During the official dinner in honor of the German Chancellor, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that August 24 will be a memorable date for Armenian-German relations. He stressed that, following the results of the talks, he could state that extremely important and effective discussions were held with Mrs. Chancellor.
The head of the Armenian government expressed confidence that the ties between the countries will continue to strengthen, that a new page will be opened in relations between the two countries. Angela Merkel, in her turn, declared her readiness to render assistance to Armenia in the reforms and invited the prime minister of the republic to visit Germany.
"In spring, we closely followed the events in Armenia, followed how citizens of Armenia, especially young people, were determined to implement and express their civil will through peaceful rallies. We - representatives of the German federal government, deputies, representatives of the economic bloc of the delegation and the German side in general, wish to accompany you on the path of these bold changes and wish to be a facilitating partner in the further development of Armenia, "the Chancellor said.
