Varuzhan Avetisyan: It is not the Police Chief who should evaluate  the electoral processes

In an interview with journalists, he noted that there are all the  prerequisites to achieve this goal, and it is necessary to work  together to bring them into reality. When asked to comment on the  words of the Chief of the RA Police Valery Osipyan about the  unprecedented nature of the election campaign, Varuzhan Avetisyan  noted that it is not the head of the Police who should assess the  electoral processes, since this is not part of his powers. "In our  opinion, the Chief of Police should refrain from making political  statements and not enter politics. We are now at a transitional stage  and are confident that we will not be witnesses of such events soon,"  the candidate said.

Answering the question whether all the conditions were created for  the elections, Varuzhan Avetisyan stressed that the country is going  through a difficult period. "We live in such a time when there can be  no talk about equal conditions, but this is a transitional stage  which, we are sure, will lead us to free, fair, equal and transparent  elections. Now there is freedom, but we jointly with the people will  ensure continuation ", Varuzhan Avetisyan noted.

Snap parliamentary elections are being held today in Armenia, in  which 9 parties and 2 blocs participate:  the "My step" bloc headed  by Armenian Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Republican Party  of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia Party, Enlightened Armenia, Sasna  Tsrer, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, Orinats Yerkir, Citizen's Decision,  National Progress, ''Christian-National Revival'' party and ''We''  bloc. Political parties need to overcome the 5% threshold and  blocs-7% to enter parliament. If only two political forces overcome  the threshold, the force which took the third place, regardless of  the result, will also receive mandates, since the Constitution  guarantees the presence in the representative body of at least three  parties or blocs.
