To recall, it is within the framework of the "March 1" case that the second president of the RA, Robert Kocharyan, former Defense Minister Mikael Harutyunyan and former CSTO Secretary General Yury Khachaturov are accused. Kocharyan himself, accused under art. 300.1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia in overthrowing the constitutional system in the framework of the criminal case on the dispersal of protest rallies on March 1, 2008, even before his arrest (July 28), called the accusation against him political persecution. According to him, this is a "vendetta" under the slogan of love and solidarity of the "velvet revolution". However, on August 13, the Court of Appeal changed the measure of restraint against Kocharyan, taking into account his immunity, and Robert Kocharyan was released from custody in the courtroom.
