ArmInfo. The main watershed in the political field of Armenia is the geopolitical position of parties and blocs. Such an opinion was expressed at the press conference by the candidate of sociological sciences, a member of the Eurasian expert club Samvel Manukyan.
According to him, the revolution in Armenia did not suffer a fiasco and did not "split", precisely because its leaders initially stated that there was no geopolitical component in the processes. In order to substantiate his words, the expert cited sociological data. So, according to him, 70% of the population of Armenia are supported by forces with a pro-Russian orientation, 20% with pro-Western and pro-American, 10% have not been oriented.
According to the expert, the overwhelming majority of the population of Armenia over the past 7 years live with a permanent expectation of war. At the same time, 82% of the population believe that in the event of war, Armenia's position will be stronger if it cooperates with Russia, taking into account the close integration of the security system, energy and the economy of the two countries. Manukyan also noted that 72% of the country's population are inclined to support forces with a socialist orientation, 8% are in favor of liberals, the rest support hybrid forces. Against this background, it is noteworthy that 92% of the country's population supports state property in the economy. At the same time, as the expert noted, the majority of political forces in their activities are not based on these political moods, guided by commonplace populism and raising the most speculative problems on the surface
