RPA adopted a resolution in which it indicated Pashinyan as  instigator of events of March 1, 2008

ArmInfo. The Republican Party of Armenia, at the meeting of the Executive Body and the Council held the day before, adopted a resolution in which it analyzed the latest  processes in the republic, and also outlined its future plans.

In the resolution, the RPA, in particular, called Acting Premier  Nikol Pashinyan one of the instigators of the events of March 1,  2008, which resulted in casualties. The statement reads, in  particular, "Taking into account the scale of the protests on April  23, in order to avoid unnecessary tension and on the eve of the  anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan  resigned. Immediately after that, the protest organizers changed  their demands and put forward the slogan" Nikol "An  anti-constitutional demand was made to the parliamentary majority not  to form a government. After Nikolai Pashinyan was elected prime  minister, the latter chose to monopolize the political field. The  country began with the strongest pressure on deputies and  representatives of local governments. The government constantly and  publicly began to put pressure on the judiciary, questioning the  decisions of the courts, and threatening the judges. The elections to  the parliament that were not protested by any of the political forces  were also questioned. In April 2017 in Armenia. At the same time, as  a result of inaction, and sometimes police assistance, actions were  taken aimed at disrupting public order, the work of local authorities  and economic entities. Illegal actions were taken even against the  Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, "the statement says.

It is also noted that in the speeches of the Prime Minister there  were often unfounded personal accusations that violated the  presumption of innocence. "There were attempts by threats to bring  the media under full control. On 12 June, the Prime Minister  literally stated that" some television companies, using unrestricted  freedom of speech, decided to engage in anti-government propaganda.  Do not do that. "Against this background, it is worth noting the  arrest of the owner of the Second Channel of Armenia and its assets,  which can be regarded as an attempt to put pressure on the media.

Encouraged by the victory in the elections to the Yerevan Council of  Elders, wishing to have a qualitative political majority in the  National Assembly, the leadership of the Civil Contract Party decided  to expedite the dissolution of the parliament and the process of  early elections. This contradicted the deadline indicated by the  party, according to which the Electoral Code had to be reformed  before the elections. Under pressure from the Prime Minister, the  National Assembly was dissolved, and early parliamentary elections  were called, "the statement said.  At the same time, the Republican  Party does not deny the fact that the current authorities of Armenia  enjoy unconditional public support, which is due to positive  expectations from the government. "Nevertheless, the mistakes made by  the current authorities are more than obvious - inflation, a  reduction in foreign investment. All this is due to the discrediting  of entrepreneurs, violation of banking secrecy. The authorities are  trying to disguise the distortion of economic indicators," - said in  a statement. RPA also reminds that, contrary to promises, no increase  in salaries and pensions is envisaged. The party also expresses its  concern over the personnel policy: "Qualified personnel are being  fired," their own "are appointed to replace them, regardless of their  professional skills.

The RPA has also criticized the fight against corruption, which, in  its opinion, is declarative in nature and is a manifestation of  selective justice and political reprisals. "The national and  traditional values of the Armenian people, the foundations of family,  church and national identity are also under threat," the Republicans  warn.

Most of all, the RPA did not like the foreign policy of the current  authorities. The Republicans consider the possible loss of the post  of the CSTO Secretary General to be especially dangerous. In the  opinion of the Republicans, dangerous tendencies are also observed  around the Karabakh settlement. "The foreign policy of the current  authorities and regional processes show that we must be ready for the  most dangerous trends," the statement said.

At the same time, the RPA listed a few of its own mistakes - the loss  of communication with ordinary party members, party membership of  people who do not share its values and ideology, intolerance to  healthy criticism, ineffective struggle against corruption and  bribery, high unemployment, unresolved social problems.
