ArmInfo. Dodgers from serving in the Armenian armed forces will be able to return to their homeland and fulfill their civic duty. At the November 8 sitting, the RA government approved the legislative initiative of the RA National Assembly MP from the ''Yelk'' faction Georgy Giorgisyan, who introduced amendments to the law "On Citizens Who Did Not Undergo Compulsory Military Service in violation of the established procedure."
As Acting Deputy Defense Minister Gabriel Balayan noted at the meeting of the executive body, the bill provides for giving young people under the age of 27 years old, who left the country with the aim of evading military service, to avoid criminal prosecution. It is proposed, in particular, that until December 31, 2018 inclusive, they can return and fulfill their civic duty. To note the Armenian authorities annually extend the deadlines for solving problems related to draft dodgers. This year is no exception.
