Pashinyan about possibility of his nomination at the first stage of  elections: the question is purely legal

ArmInfo.The nomination of Nikol  Pashinyan's candidacy to the prime minister's post at the first stage  of the election of the Head of the government in parliament is a  legal, not a political matter. This was stated by acting Armenian  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Armenian service of Radio Liberty  on October 17.

 According to him, this is a legal issue on which  lawyers are debating. "As for yesterday , the weighty opinion was  that the interpretation of the need for nomination was incorrect,"  Pashinyan stressed. In response to the remark that he himself raised  this question, the acting Prime Minister noted: "Yes, this is a  purely legal matter. I did not want any nuance to be ignored, so I  raised this issue so that those lawyers who are not involved in this  discussion, also involve. Last night, most reputable lawyers noted  that there is no need for it ". According to him, in the end a  political decision will be made, but there will be no political  implication in it.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced his resignation on  October 16. Prior to this, Pashinyan received members of the Yelk  parliamentary faction consisting of the head of the faction Lena  Nazaryan, MPs of the National Assembly Aram Sargsyan, Sasun  Mikayelyan and Hayk Konjoryan. "There is a high probability, and in  this is a call by lawyers, that during these 14 days, at least at the  first stage, I will stand for the post of Prime Minister so that the  process fully complies with the letter and spirit of the law, of  course, with the condition of non-election" , - He said, urging to  discuss and this opportunity.

To recall if in the next 14 days, the Armenian parliament does not  elect the prime minister twice, this will lead to its dissolution,  and the President of the country will appoint early elections.
